- <p> SENTENCED. DEHUNDRA CALDWELL, 18, high school student; to 12
- months' probation for the theft of $20 worth of ice cream bars
- from a school cafeteria; in Thomaston, Georgia. Last year Caldwell
- was given three years in prison, a punishment denounced as draconian
- and racist by civil rights and community leaders. Caldwell served
- 10 days before being freed pending a review of his case. As
- part of his new penalty, he will perform 40 days of community
- service and pay $600.
